Iomega Garbage - Don't buy Feb 28, 2010 Takeover plagued Iomega cannot get it right. I thought that there was a product on the forefront of a new technology. The plus was that it has a name attached vs all the other no-name Media players. Wow, was I wrong: Not Mac compatible (nevertheless the underlying software is Linux !!!). Menu sucks, except HDMI connection it offers no decent standard connectors, Cheap little remote - and the kicker: NOT HD ! It does not understand mkv or any other HD formats...
I could have gotten an external 500gb drive for less, because that is all it is good for.
Finally, Iomega could have redeemed themselves by a firmware update with other formats and (just) maybe a menu they could have copied from any iPod. No such luck. They just left us out there.
Well, good luck to EMC and Mr. Tucci. They might as well sell the iomega brand to someone else.

Excellent Product, Works Just Fine! Dec 26, 2009 I bought this HD after a friend at work told me about it, and I'm glad he did. I use it almost every day since I bought it and I've never had a problem with my unit so far. I highly recommend it.
EXCELLENT!!! Dec 17, 2009 Works exactly as advertised - a snap to use and can be easily upgraded up to 1TB of 3.5 HDD. One of my favorite technologies on the market today. Thanks IOMEGA!!!
Good but could be better! Dec 08, 2009 I purchased the product without looking at the file format that it could handle in playback. While you can store any movie on it you can play back MP4's or ISO movie files. Iomega should create some other type of compression system because 500g goes pretty quick.
