Great product for my Lamy Safari fountain pen. Price is good but as others have said the shipping cost for such a small item is high.

This is a great addition to your Lamy fountain pen. It is really easy to refill from a bottle of ink rather than buying ink cartridges. Seals good with no leaking--pretty important for a fountain pen.

A must for anyone who uses fountain pens regularly. I agree with the other reviewers regarding the savings encountered with a refillable cartridge. I also agree with the one customer regarding the applied shipping charges (high) for an item in this weight class. I have just received this product a few days ago so long term satisfaction is still an issue to be determined. Currently very much satisfied. For all the reason already published in other comments (multiple ink color use and shipping costs) I also recommend buying 2 or more when ordering. Opinion: two thumbs-up.

Never had a piston-style ink refiller before Nov 03, 2009
As I've mentioned elsewhere, the Lamy Safari is a great pen. And this converter is a necessary acquisition if one wants to use a bottled ink (like the very excellent Noodlers, say). The converter works great, no problems at all, but I thought I'd just mention a tip. When drawing in (sucking up) the ink, turn the knob fairly slowly, and the reservoir will fill up much more completely. I just learned this today. On previous "fast" refills, I ended up with about a quarter-inch of air space in the cartridge. This morning, I pondered the fact that there was just a pin-hole in the nib - designed, of course, to carefully regulate the flow of ink onto the paper. It's that same pin-hole that one is using when drawing ink into the cartridge so hence the best suction is going to be slower to provide enough time for the ink to pull through that pin-hole. How slow is slow? Well, I didn't time myself, but I think it still only took fifteen to twenty seconds or so to slowly draw the ink in. And it looked completely full this time, no visible air space at all.
