all right by me !!! Oct 25, 2007
By Matthew G. Sherwin These security envelopes by Mead make it next to impossible for anyone to hold the envelope up to a light and read what's inside the envelope. The inside of the envelope has an extra lining to protect the security of your documents. The envelopes measure 4 1/8 inches by 9 1/2 inches so they fit well along with the rest of your mail or any other standard, letter size envelopes you may be using. Each envelope can hold up to four folded 8 inch by 11 in pieces of paper comfortably. All right!!!
They are indeed self-sealing. After everything is in the envelope, just remove the tape that covers the "sticky stuff" on the back flap. You then close the flap of the envelope simply by pressing down on the flap to seal it to the actual envelope. VoilĂ ! It is sealed. If you have any other security concerns just seal the envelope up even more by using regular household tape to cover the line where the sealed flap meets the envelope.
I have used these envelopes for ages and they have always helped me when I had to mail private or sensitive documents. I highly recommend them for anyone who requires extra privacy for their mail.

Not opaque Jul 18, 2010
By sluggerlee These are certainly not what I would call security envelopes. Just mailed my first check without a sheet of paper around it and you can see right through the envelope. It very obviously contains a check! Will not order these again.

ok, maybe I shouldn't buy everything on Amazon May 08, 2010
By Maryjane Heyer These are made of very cheap paper, and the price is more than three times what I could have paid at a convenience store.

Mead Envelopes Need Refolding! Apr 28, 2010
By K. Adams I purchased the Mead Security Envelopes with instant sealing and while they do provide security they were folded improperly which means I had to refold every single envelope or risk the sticky strip sticking to the document enclosed! It's absurd that I had to refold the envelopes. They honestly should come ready to use! Ridiculous. I do not recommend. Too time consuming

Don't buy this. Jul 22, 2010
By isou First of all, it is way overpriced on Amazon.
I paid either $1.99 or $.99 at a local Wal Mart.
Second, but not last. It is very poorly made with cheap materials.
Paper is thin and the glued parts are not very well bonded together.
Even if this goes on sale for a dollar, don't buy it. Not worth it.
